I have been running since 2007. I race any distance longer than a 5k. I've done a few marathons, including Boston, but the distance I enjoy racing the most is the half marathon. I completed my first Ironman last year in Wisconsin and loved training for the other disciplines in addition to running, especially because I was a beginner at both swimming and cycling. I missed training purely for running races, though, because I didn't do much speed work. My goal this spring is to run a PR at the Illinois Half Marathon (sub 1:36). Long term, I would like to keep pushing the pace in every distance until I eventually get old and slow down. Then I'll run purely for fun, although I doubt I'll ever stop competing.
